How are you involved with giving to others during the Holiday season?
Giving through the church
Our church helps gather toys and for the military wives and children at a base where we live.
That is a great idea. Military families who's mom or dads are overseas have to have a hard time during the holidays.
We have always collected food. When we go to the grocery store we always get one or two extra items. Something that we would want ourselves. Then at the end of the year we have got a big donation of food we can give to our local food bank.
I give to my Social service organization's food bank. But I do that year round, not merely during the holidays.
We used to be very involved with serving families in need from our City. When we moved we starting giving to our local food bank and charities that go the extra mile on the holidays.
That's great, over the years we have found different ways to give during the holidays. My last job had very hands on giving to families in need very close to our work.
I need to think about that. I do want to put together holiday treats and drop it off to family.
Thats a nice thought
Once the kids grew up, and we both worked the holidays, so the others with kids can seen time with them. Now we give to the local food banks and support other local charities…
that's awesome and more people should do that for parents with children.
